In 2020, your Fremont Conservation District has joined other community sponsors in supporting a new greenhouse - learning and development project at the Canon City High School. The project led by local non-profit, the Green Thumb Initiative, aims to immerse students in an interactive environment that promotes healthy foods, locally sourced commodities, and emotional coping mechanisms.
The Fremont Conservation District on behalf of the landowners we represent has allocated $2500.00 to the project with an open invitation to the group to present to us again once primary construction has been completed in 2021.
